Steven J. Collins

 

Steven is a professional photographer and educator from Seattle, Washington.  He has a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master's Degree in Curriculum Technology.   Steven offers a refreshing view of the world around us, by allowing a moment to see the otherwise unseen.  Steven's objective in every photo is to take one moment in time and stop it so that it can be appreciated and studied with interest.   In his travels from the far west to the Far East he has stopped time by capturing people, objects and life itself in their moment.

 

Since picking up a camera at a young age, Steven has committed himself to documenting the world around him. Receiving inspiration and support from his father, Steven’s enthusiasm for photography is a passion that grows with him. 

 

Steven has spent much of his time behind the camera photographing people and their interaction with the environment around them.  He is passionate about capturing people in their daily lives and their interactions with the environment around them.  Combine this passion with the backdrops of such historical cities as Paris, Rome, Florence, San Francisco, Bangkok, and Singapore, and you seize a photograph that captivates and intrigues.

 

Without a single preferred camera to use, Steven enjoys using everything from a moody and simple pinhole camera to the most recent generation of digital equipment.  He finds that each method has its own unique characteristics that enhance a photograph.
